SHORT-TERM REHAB

PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL & SPEECH THERAPIES

At Rehab Select, physical, occupational, and speech therapy are consistent components of our services. Up to seven days a week. Up to three hours a day. One-on-one treatment. Unlike many facilities, we are able to offer this personalized, rigorous schedule of therapies, as ordered by a patient’s physician. You benefit from shorter stays and a faster route to wellness with inpatient physical therapy.

SHORT-TERM REHAB

ORTHOPEDIC REHAB

Orthopedic rehab is a therapeutic approach to recovery, the purpose of which is to correct musculoskeletal limitations and alleviate pain from trauma, illness, or surgery. The musculoskeletal system consists of muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, cartilage so that orthopedic rehab can address any of those structures.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists focus on rectifying impairments or physical limitations—such as those caused by injury, surgery or chronic conditions like arthritis or osteoporosis, for instance—helping patients strengthen muscles, regain balance and flexibility and/or reduce pain to improve overall mobility and functional ability.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists, on the other hand, focus on remediation of impairments and limitations. While they may, like physical therapists, work to help patients increase strength and flexibility to minimize impairments, they also help patients learn practical techniques to work around the difficulties imposed on their lives by those impairments. The goal is to maximize their ability to do the things they want and need to do despite these issues, increasing day-to-day function and independence.

The Benefits of Physical and Occupational Therapy

Many patients can benefit from both forms of therapy. Typically, patients for whom both occupational and professional physical therapy are recommended are those who are recovering from surgeries, especially joint replacement and other orthopedic surgeries, those who are rehabilitating after a stroke or cardiac event, or those who have lost a great deal of mobility and function to chronic health conditions.

The Benefits of Speech Therapy

Speech therapy plays a highly significant role in recovery as well by helping patients relearn how to communicate in a clear manner. Developing communication skills is essential to helping the patient be as independent as possible.
